Beverly Johnson, born October 13, 1952 is an American model, actress, and businesswoman from Buffalo, New York. Starting her carrer after taking the advice of her peers at Northeastern University, Beverly soon became a face photographers and designers had to work with. For the cover of the August 1974 issue of American Vogue, Beverly Johnson was chosen to grace it and was the very first. Very soon after, Johnson's appearance on the cover changed the beauty idea in fashion and by the next year, every major American fashion designer began using African American models. Johnson would go on to grace more than 500 magazine covers over her carrer and was featured in a couple of movies and t.v. shows also including a short music career. Today, she enjoys the successes of her business and owns the Beverly Johnson Hair Collection a popular line of wigs, and hair products for the African American market. Being quite the cougar in her ripe age, he can still be seen enjoying the atmosphere that NY has to offer. A real lady in all respect.
