Iman

Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid born July 25, 1955, is a Somali model, actress and entrepreneur. Being a multicultural powerhouse, Iman is fluent in five languages (Arabic, English, French, Italian, and Somali). While studying at Nairobi University, she was discovered by an American photographer which persuaded her to move to the US to start a modeling carrer. Iman was well accepted by her fashion peers and a year after she came to pursue modeling, she landed a modeling assignment for Vogue. She soon landed some of the most prestigious magazine covers and established herself as as supermodel. She was a HIT. Soon she was the muse for many of the top designers including Gianni Versace, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Yves Saint-Laurent. She had a staggering 14 year carrer as a high fashion model and worked with numerous famed photograpers over the years. Iman soon found love in a English rocker named David Bowie. They soon married and still are to this day. Residing primarily in their Manhattan and London estates, the wife also created a cosmetic empire that shares her name, and has spent the time to deal with humanitarian issues when shes not working. Today, Iman is one of the most recognizable faces in international culture and shows no signs of aging.
